Important Information for Beginners

All first time students are eligible for the Introductory 3 Week Pass which gives you unlimited yoga classes for 21 consecutive days for only $30.

First time students are asked to arrive at least 15-20 minutes before class commences to register.

  • Avoid eating 2 hours before class.
  • Ensure you are well hydrated.
  • Bring a yoga mat, large towel (2 if you want to shower at the studio) and water. (BYO or we sell/hire these at the studio.)
  • Wear light-fitting, comfortable clothing suitable for a hot environment.

Etiquette for the Yoga Room

Yoga is a silent practice, so please respect others by remaining silent while in the yoga room.

We ask that you please avoid wearing any strong perfumes or deodorants in the room. Showers are available should you require them before and after class.

Leaving the room can be a safety issue and may distract others, so do your best to stay in the room for the full duration of your class; please only leave in the case of an emergency.

Lockers are provided for all your personal belongings. Please only bring your yoga mat, towel and water into the yoga room.

What to Expect

Beginners are asked to position themselves in the back rows so you can watch the more experienced students in the front row for guidance.

It is normal to feel dizzy, nauseous or light-headed when you first start practising a Bikram Yoga class, it can also happen with other styles of yoga, so don't be afraid to take a break and kneel down if needed.

We encourage you to not compare yourself to others in the room; just do the best you can and you will gain the benefits of this healing practice no matter what stage you are at.

The first few classes can be challenging and may vary greatly in terms of how you feel. Come back for your second class as soon as you can, and practise as much as you can during your introductory offer. This is the best way to get used to your new yoga practice and  is the quickest way to acclimatize to the heated classes.
